REACH Regulatory Office
REACH, i.e. the regulation on registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals (EC/1907/2006), came into force on 1 June 2007.
Two years later, in 2009, the regulation on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP) became effective. Both regulations are implemented by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
In accordance with the Showa Denko Group Code of Conduct, we will act in strict compliance with regulations and according to high ethical standards. We have been engaged in REACH and CLP also since the entry into force of these legislations in order to ensure that our products comply with the legal requirements. After the REACH pre-registration phase in 2008 and depending on quantities, classification and the so-called “phase-in” status, we are stepwise completing the registrations of the relevant substances subject to REACH within the required deadlines.
Within REACH, the Safety Data Sheet is a major tool for informing the supply chain about hazards, risks and measures to ensure safe handling of substances and mixtures. We will provide customers with such data in order to enable safe handling and thus support the protection of both human health and the environment.
